Install your theme

Follow these steps in Shopify Admin. When you’re done, open the guide for your theme (for Roost, see Set up Roost).

From the Theme Store (usual path)

1. Go to the Shopify Theme Store and find your theme (for example Roost).
2. Click Try theme. Shopify adds a draft to your store.
3. Go to Online Store → Themes.
4. Under Theme library, find the draft → Preview.
5. Optional: click Customize to change branding. Your changes stay if you buy the theme.
6. When you’re happy, click Buy.
7. When you’re ready for customers to see it, click Publish.

Tip: Preview on your phone and desktop before you publish.

From a ZIP file

Only if we (or a partner) sent you a ZIP:

1. Go to Online Store → Themes.
2. Click Add theme → Upload zip file.
3. Choose the file and upload.
4. Preview, then Customize, then Publish when ready.

First pass after install

1. Open Customize.
2. Upload your logo.
3. Connect your main menu in the header.
4. Point homepage collections to real products (not empty ones).
5. Replace sample photos with your own.

Menus, products, and pages stay in Admin even if you switch themes later.
