Setup checklist

Follow this order after installing your theme. Work in a draft theme until the store is ready for customers.

1. Install and open the editor

Add Roost from the Theme Store or upload a ZIP (install guide).
Click Customize on the draft theme.
Skim Theme editor basics so you know where global settings, templates, and sections live.

2. Set brand defaults

Configure these in Theme settings before you tune individual pages:

3. Build shop basics

From Set up Roost:

Create collections (single origin, blends, subscriptions).
Add 4–8 coffee products with photos.
Create About and Brewing pages.
Connect your main menu in the header.

4. Add coffee data and subscriptions

Add coffee details (roast, taste notes, brew methods).
Enable brew method and roast filters in the Search & Discovery app.
Set up subscriptions and paste your customer portal link in theme settings.

5. Configure templates and pages

Replace sample images on the homepage and point featured sections at real collections.

6. Preview before publish

Test on desktop and mobile:

Homepage looks complete with your photos
A product shows Subscribe when selling plans are attached
Collection filters work
Cart opens after Add to cart
Checkout buttons appear on product and cart
Search returns real products

Use the live demo (password: roost) to compare layout expectations.

When everything passes, click Publish.
