Coffee details

Roost can show roast date, taste notes, freshness, and more. You create those fields once, then fill them on each coffee.

Go to Settings → Custom data → Products → Add definition.

Add fields like:

Show this on the store Field type

Tasting notes List of text
Roast level Text (light, medium, dark…)
Brightness Number
Body Number
Coffee type Text (Single origin, Blend)

Brew guide Metaobject reference

When Shopify asks for a namespace, use roost so everything stays organized.

Open a product → scroll to the coffee fields → fill what’s useful. Blank fields simply hide that tip on the store.

Under Custom data → Metaobjects, create:

  • Origin — farm/region story + photo
  • Brew guide — method, ratio, steps + photo

Then link them on each product.

Open the Search & Discovery app and turn on filters for brew methods and roast level.

Shoppers pick a grind on the product page. It saves on the order as a note, so you don’t need a separate product for every grind size.
